| AME's ITS and Librarian have been working together to help students produce paper slide videos for book reviews. Participating students read a book from the list of Texas Bluebonnet Award books, and produced a video inviting their peers to read the book. QR codes were made and displayed with the book posters outside of the library to direct students to the location of the videos on the internet. Students, staff, and school visitors can scan the QR codes and watch the book review videos from their own devices. Check out the Book Reviews page to see more! |

AME scholars produce a morning show that is broadcast live to the school each day. Ms. Davis and Mrs. Manaj work with the scholars to develop and practice scripts that inform students and staff about school happenings and community events. They also interview guest speakers who have something special to share. The scholars rotate roles so that everyone gets to experience being a technician and being on camera as an anchor. Mrs. Henson and Mrs. Baker are teaching Kindergarteners how to use their digital response devices. The devices (clickers) provide kid-friendly technology that enables teachers and students to interact dynamically through question-and-answer polling; the Promethean/ActivInspire software accurately records polling results to improve learning outcomes. This lesson was prepared to "front load" an IB unit on Healthy Choices. The students are showing what they already know about making good choices regarding nutrition and exercise. Mrs. Davis' art students produced original works of art and used QR codes to present their artist statements. An artist statement is a brief statement about and in support of, an artist's own work to give the viewer understanding. As such it is descriptive or reflective in nature. Students, staff, and visitors can check out the beautiful art work in the hallways and use their phones and other mobile devices to learn how these "Zentangle with Range of Value" pieces were produced and what inspired the artists. |
